Where can I find a low sodium recipe for macroni and cheese?
I am on a low sodium diet. Here is why–I have quite a few health problems–including, but not limited to, hypothyroidism, hypokalemia (low potassium), hyperaldesteronism (overactive adrenals), hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), kyphosis (a form of scoliosis), Fibromyalgia, major depression, Psoriasis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Sleep Apnea, Premature ventricular contractions, Narcolepsy, severe Edema issues, and no telling what all else! On top of all of that, I was born deaf-blind due to Congenital Rubella Syndrome–mom got the german measles when she was preggers with me. So as you can see, I got quite a few problems……so it is imperative that I follow a strict diet with as little sodium as possible.
I hope somebody can help point me in the right direction so I can finally enjoy macroni and cheese again. TIA!

Can I give my 1 yr. old Prednisolone (prelone) an oral steroid? To help with his rash?
My son had his 12 month shots on December 2, 2008, which included a flu shot. On that day he was prescribed and given 1 tsp. of Amoxicillin twice a day, 1 ml. of zyrtec once a day, and 1 ml. of multivitamins once a day. I also switched to half cow’s milk (vitamin d) and half his similac soy formula. I know it was a lot of things to give him. Anyway 3-4 days later, I noticed his face had little red dots on it, I thought it was baby acne again, he had that before and it looked similar, he also had a bug bite looking dot on his finger and toe. I dismissed it, thinking it was a bug bite, we have sand gnats here in georgia. But yesterday on December 10, 2008 I went to change his clothes and noticed small pinkish red dots covering his body. So I scheduled an appointment for him for the following day, today. Towards the evening around 8pm we took him to the er because it looked like it got a bit worse, I was nervous, never seen that before, thought it was measles, german measles, or something bad (like a reaction to his shots) or something. The Dr. said it was the amoxicillin mixed with the ear infection virus he had or something. So he gave him 5ml. of Benadryl. So he had that last night, now this morning I found out he could be allergic to the amoxicillin, I looked it up on google and it kind of looks like the “amoxicillin rash.” But not close together, still apart yet bright red and everywhere. It got worse (the rash) by the morning. So they prescribed him prelone for 3 days along with Westcort (ointment) they are both types of steroids, one is oral one is an ointment. I am quite nervous about giving him steroids. Is it okay for him or no? Or should I just keep him on the benadryl?
Thanks everyone,
Christina
p.s. sorry bout the long post.

What could these spots be?
On Saturday my 3 year old daughter has a very slightly raised temperature. 37.8 at it’s highest. The following morning it was even less, 36.9 at it’s highest and by Monday it was normal. I gave her calpol and although she was a little clingy she wasn’t poorly. Since then she has been developing some red spots. There’s a few on her face, some on her arms and legs and 3 on her back. They don’t look like chicken pox and she has already had that, they aren’t a measles or german measles rash and I have done the glass test and they disappear under pressure. We have alot of midges here but if they were insect bites they would itch yet they don’t bother her at all. They seem to start as a small pin prick size red dot which gets a little bigger and slightly raised and then disappears although they are developing faster than they disappear.
Anyone got any ideas what it might be. Just a little virus perhaps?
Thanks

rubella titers test and pregnancy?
I went to the lab today to have the rubella titers test done and I’ve never heard of this test or seen anything on Y!A about it. I asked the lady drawing blood about it because the receptionist handed me the paperwork when I was leaving my last appointment and she said it’s a test to check for german measles and she said she rarely does them and my initial blood work I received in early pregnancy must have showed no immunity for the measles which is weird because I’ve had every vaccination I should including the measles vaccine.
Does anyone have any clue as to what happens if this test today shows I have no immunity to the rubella titers? I see the doctor Thursday so I’m sure I’ll get all the info then but I can’t help but wonder if this is going to effect my baby at all and Thursday seems like forever away… if anyone could find me information also that would help I’m so lost and worried..
I just got my 16 week blood work?
My doctor basically said that everything was perfect and to just keep doing what I was doing. He also told me the results of my 20 week ultrasound and said everything looked great there too! My little boy is growing perfectly. =) But he also told me that I do not have an immunity to Ruebella Virus/German Measles. My 4 year old hasn’t been vaccinated for this yet and I spend a lot of time around children who are not yet school age who a lot of times haven’t been vaccinated yet either. Has anyone heard recently of a case of german measles? The doctor didn’t say it was uncommon and told me under no circumstances was I to be near children with rashes.
Strange rash on my 10 months old son?
It started 7 days ago, I noticed he had a few bumps on the crease of the back of his neck. The next day they were gone, but he had several red bumps on his face. By the end of the day his face was covered in these bumps. They are still there. He has had no other symptoms except that he has been taking longer naps. He has had no fever, and no other obvious illness type symptoms. 4 days into the rash some red bumps started coming up on his lower back. My first thought was German Measles, except that six days later it’s still on his face and doesn’t’ seem to be fading. His whole face and under his chin are covered in tiny red bumps!!! He also has a single one here and there on miscellaneous parts of his body. (One bump on his shoulder, two on his side, one on the top of his foot, ect.)
Three weeks ago we were both sick. I don’t think it’s related as we were both doing better and almost back to 100% about 36 hours after. Fever, chills, diarrhea and aches are what was experienced. And it was two weeks after that the rash appeared.
Could this be German Measles that are just hanging around longer than they usually do???
Rubella???
i got 15 months old son, he have completed his MMR shots. 5 days ago he experienced cough, colds and intermittent fever…2 days ago i’v seen a maculo papular rash at his neck spreadind to his back and chest and resembles a viral exantem rash…. is it possible for him to catch up german measles?
it couldn’t be an allergic reaction though… he got the last shot a couple of months ago.. couldn’t be a delay reaction
